About the new design, Kinda~

I'm primarily going to use this blog to talk about and post pictures I'm working on, but I thought it might be nice to talk about the new site layout and things I learned while working on it.

Relative links aren't nice.

Yeah. I guess it's easier to just type in "main.html" but if you are going to link to your website from a blog or even have your site organized in folders, the full link will make your life easier. At least until you move your website. All I had to do was copy/paste my navigation from my sites html into blogger and I was ready to go.

Include files are the best thing ever.

Instead of editing several pages to update links or featured images or footers, you can edit one file and apply it to your whole page. Using these will seriously make your life easier. The only problem is that it needs to be on a server that reads php, or you won't be able to see the content that's on the .inc file. But, that's small in comparison to the benefits.

I love lightboxJS

No, really, that's all I need to say. If you have a website full of images, you don't have to write html for each image so they view nicely. With the script, they pop-up in this nice little window that displays in your page. No external pop-ups, no unstyled links to images only and no html to write and update. It makes me so happy.

Paypal button

This helped me a lot. I hope it can help you too. It's a forum post about how to add multiple prices to one paypal shopping cart button. http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/paypal-shopping-cart-creator/26580-how-create-multiple-price-options-one-paypal-button.html

I think that's about it for slightly interesting things. No more boring posts. The next one is art. I promise.
